Join us as we explore thankfulness for nature through crafts, stories, and fun in the Gnome & Fairy Garden.
Join us at Miami Beach Botanical Garden’s Gnome & Fairy Garden for a morning of wonder and gratitude! “Thank You, Earth!” invites children and families to celebrate nature’s beauty through hands-on activities, storytelling, and creative expression. Together, we’ll explore what it means to be thankful—for our planet, our community, and the magic that lives all around us.
This special activation blends art, imagination, and environmental appreciation—perfect for curious minds and garden adventurers of all ages.
Plant Art with Sandy the Tropical Tree Fairy: Children will create colorful art using recycled paper, dried leaves, and flowers from the garden.
Coloring Corner: Join local interdisciplinary artist Gloria Hernando for a relaxing drawing activity using eco-friendly materials and have Gloria sign your own copy of her coloring and poetry book, The Magical World of Orchids.
Book Buds Reading Circle: Young readers (ages 8+) are invited to bring a favorite book to share with younger children (ages 0+). Little listeners can bring a blanket and a stuffed friend from home!
Nature Portraits: Capture your connection with nature through a special portrait session with Deborah Lima, inspired by the Garden’s beauty.
Local Vendors: Enjoy light bites and refreshments from community favorites including coffee and handmade goods.

Gnome & Fairy Garden Reopening
The Gnomes and Fairies have returned—even the Garden's magical creatures flee the Miami summer heat!—and are ready to receive your letters.
Join us to celebrate the reopening of the Gnome & Fairy Garden and to kick off the season with some fantastical fun.
Activations will include:
Book readings at 10:30 and 11:30 am by our friends at the Miami-Dade Public Library System
A magical wand-making ceremony for children to craft and decorate wands with a real live Garden Fairy
A spooky plants session with Nate Samuels. Discover the wonder of Venus flytraps—learn about these mysterious plants, feed them, and take one home, courtesy of the Miami Beach Garden Club
A pumpkin giveaway and Halloween-themed arts and crafts with the Sunflower Society
And more!
Our friends at Stanzione Pizza will also be on hand to feed bellies big and small.
