Simplifying Sourdough Baking

Join The Lazy Bakers Club to learn the easiest way to make homemade sourdough loaves. You'll take home your own starter and supplies.

This class is perfect for anyone who wants to bake gut-healthy, naturally fermented bread loaves but are afraid it might be too complicated. It's not!

In this class, you'll learn everything you need to be a successful sourdough baker at home, taste test lots of sourdough loaves, and leave class with your own starter and enough dough to bake your loaf at home. No baking experience necessary! This is a hands-on, highly interactive class.

During class you learn:

  • How to prep dough for your loaf

  • How to take care of your starter

  • How to shape your dough for its second proofing

  • How to bake a classic sourdough loaf

  • How to bake a focaccia

During class you receive to take home:

  • sourdough starter

  • spatula

  • bowl

  • flour towel

  • enough dough for a loaf to be baked at home

  • An invitation to our WhatsApp Community to continue learning and connecting with other lazy bakers

  • Printed and digital resources and recipes

You’ll need at home:

  • a kitchen scale

  • something to bake in (typically a Dutch oven, alternatively a shallow baking pan or cookie sheet)

  • a proofing or banneton basket (this is optional but helpful)

Instructor biography

Laura Rodriguez-Costacamps is the founder and creator of the lazy baker method of sourdough baking, a process that developed from months of experimenting with the simplest way to bake homemade bread. After 15+ years working in science, technology, health, and adult education, Laura became a stay-at-home mom. But the call to educate and experiment persisted and that's how The Lazy Bakers Club was born. Spreading the word of how simple sourdough really is and creating community around experimentation and learning.
