WILDLIFE

A healthy habitat provides a sanctuary for wildlife in our urban setting. The Garden is a regular stop for migratory birds such as warblers, american redstarts, and finches. Permanent residents include an array of cardinals, herons, hawks and egrets. The first thing you will notice is the many varieties of butterflies and moths who feed off the native host nectar plants. Bird feeders are strategically placed for optimal visibility. Turtles reside in the ponds, along with koi and cichlid fish. The new apiary was established to foster our growing honey bee population.
