Miami-Dade County’s Environmental Lands Program: 30 Years of Acquiring, Protecting & Restoring Environmentally Sensitive Areas

Joy Klein, Environmental Resources Supervisor, has worked for Miami-Dade’s Division of Environmental Resources (DERM) office for more than 35 years. She will talk about the County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands program which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. An overview of the habitats and tools used to maintain these lands, including prescribed fire methods, will be presented.
