Join Roger Stone, owner of
Stone’s Rose Gardens of Davie, Florida to learn tips and techniques
for growing and maintaining a rose garden in South Florida. Get the
latest information on rose cultivars, pruning and spraying, and how
to combat pests and problems associated with heat and humidity. An
authority on roses, Mr. Stone will answer questions about specific
growing issues in your garden. Raffle winners can take a rose plant
home.

The Women’s Business Council of
Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce salutes the romance month of
February with a panel discussion on work/life balance and
“Love is in the Air.” Epicure’s chef Michael Love will create
tempting tidbits, along with wine and cheese.

Speak Out Poetry Slam , Lenelle Moise
Series
Tigertail presents an Open Mic
and Poetry Slam for participants 21 and under to arouse, provoke and
inspire with spoken word, poetry, and gay-friendly material. Free

with Lenelle Moise, the award-winning Haitian-American poet,

The Wholesome Grocer & Farm
Fresh Miami
Each Wednesday the Garden serves as a pick-up location for two local
businesses that support local and organic foods. Farm Fresh Miami
is a buying club that offers local and organic produce. The
Wholesome Grocer connects Miami Beach to small family farms in
Florida by providing local and organically grown produce, grass-fed
beef, cage-free eggs, wild-caught fish and more. Every Wednesday
until May 2012. Pre-orders are required for both groups. For

will meet off-site this month as the Miami International Boat Show
drops anchor in our neighborhood. They will discuss “Growing Older:

Farm to Table Brunch
South Florida Wine & Food Festival
Farm to Table Brunch is a
celebration of culinary masters who embrace what they hope is not
just the latest food trend, but rather a way of life for major
American cities. Chef Michael Schwartz of Michael’s Genuine Food &
Drink has invited top sustainable chefs from across the country to
our Garden to showcase their cuisine along with Michael’s Genuine.
Participants include Tim Cushman (o ya restaurant, Boston, MA), Tony
Maws (Craigie on Main, Cambridge, MA) and Andrea Reusing (Lantern,
Chapel Hill, NC). Tickets to the Farm to Table brunch are $175 per

Embrace Life Workshop
A workshop with facilitator
Miriam Steinberg, PhD, uses movement, music, writing and drawing to
create inner balance and spiritual harmony. A practitioner of
Jungian psychotherapy and movement therapy, Miriam has developed a
method called Embrace Life for stress release and holistic healing.

Festival holds a preview event at the Garden to launch the annual

11th Annual Tour
of Miami Beach Gardens: Sat. March 17
The-once-a-year opportunity to participate in a tour
of exclusive Miami Beach residential gardens – see behind the gates
of luxury waterfront estates and visit urban retreats, rooftop
oases, and distinctive private gardens.
Participants drive their own cars or bicycle to explore each garden
at a leisurely pace. Gardens with volunteer docents are open from
10AM to 3PM. Tickets are $25 advance, $30 day of the tour.
Throughout the day at the Garden we feature food trucks, vendors,
and a sale
of orchids, plants, books, souvenirs, garden merchandise, "gems &
junque."
We're accepting donations of gently used books, toys, housewares,
jewelry, clothing and gift items for the Gems & Junk sale. Drop
items at our main office.
