Learn about more advantages of having a rain barrel at this class.  Presented by U.F. Institute of Food & Agriculture Sciences and Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension Service.  $45 for workshop and rain barrel.  Registration required through the U.F. IFAS Extension. November 15 / 10am – noon           Miami Beach’s Victory Garden           A lecture, demonstration and tour at the Miami Beach Victory Garden at Collins Avenue & 3^rd Street celebrates community gardening with a lecture by Jeff Donnelley about WWI Victory Gardens, in conjunction with Miami Design Preservation League. Sale of herbs & tomato seedlings.

December 16 / 6 to 8PM              Holiday Party                           Volunteer Recognition Awards and annual holiday party for members, volunteers, board and staff in conjunction with festive Garden Club Tabletop Displays.

January 10 / 10am – noon               Begin with Begonias                     Enjoy a lecture demonstration by Tim Anderson, plant sale to follow. 

January 28 – Taste of the Garden  Presented by the Miami Beach Garden Club

February 14 / 9am – 4:30pm             Tour to Paradise [Farm]                   The Garden offers an exclusive bus tour to Paradise Farm in Homestead and guided tour of the 5-acre organic farm by Gabriele Marewski, lunch of Paradise produce created by a celebrity chef. Suggested tour fee TBD.

March 7 /  10am – noon           Beneficial Bugs                              Guest lecturer entomologist Adrian Hunsberger discusses insects that are beneficial to your garden, attracting “good” bees and bugs.

March 14 – 10 am – 5 pm                   Annual Private Tour of Miami Beach Residential Gardens and reception at Miami Beach Botanical Garden

April 4 / 10am – noon                  Bamboo                                       Yellow, green, black and blue. The many colors, shapes and species of bamboo that grow in South Florida, landscaping with bamboo

April 5 / 1pm - 3 pm                              Japanese Spring Festival                   Our second annual Japanese-oriented family day festivities with Asian arts and crafts, tastes of Asian food.

April 21 – Miami Beach Conservancy Annual Meeting

May 2 / 10am – 3pm                           Go Green Go Native                             This is the Garden’s annual demonstration of techniques to use native resources to their best advantage

May 18                                             International Museum Day                    The Miami Beach Botanical Garden joins the International celebration of museums along with other Miami institutions. 

June 6 / 10am - noon                              Palms – Incredible and Edible              From a taste of “swamp cabbage” to a fortune teller with “palm readings”, depiction of palms in an art show, lecture and tour of the many palms planted at MB Botanical Garden, and sale of palm trees, the focus is South Florida’s iconic palms.
